On-draught @ the brewery:
5 year oak aged rustic farmhouse ale. 6.5% ABV.
Finishes slightly sour and tangy, but it's more doughy and yeasty upfront. No bacterial or wild yeast flourish ever manifests. White oak rings through the finish. Floral notes.
No peppery or spicy saccharomyces. No overt Brettanomyces character beyond very minor barnyard notes (cedar, apple skin, aged pear) and that sort of so-called "gym sock" funk (though I've often loathed that descriptor).
Delivers on its premise without dazzling. Closer to a spontaneously fermented Saison than 99% of Australian attempts at the style.
