Cloudy yellow-tan color; looked a bit like a cream of chicken soup. Poured a very tall head that turned into larger bubbles and then dropped down to a short head after three minutes. It took a few more minutes before the head dropped down to a skiff covering the surface. Too cloudy to see the carbonation level. Left many dots and patches of lacing.
Yeasty funk with a lightly roasted malt. Some near-citrus fruit I can't quite place. Just a hint of barnyard. Swirling the glass kicked up a stronger barnyard and a cooked green vegetable smell. This faded down to a stronger fruit and yeast.
Fruity flavor forward; still can't identify it better than citrus adjacent. Slightly sweet with a bit of tart. Light roasted malt balanced with some mild funk. The aftertaste is more of the same with a light bitter overlay. Late in the aftertaste there was a medicinal or solvent flavor that popped up.
Light tongue tingling for a few seconds. Then it foamed into coarse bubbles. Slightly oily or even gummy.
I don't know why, but I was expecting a Märzen despite the word Ale on the label. Basic Blonde Ale. The gummy mouthfeel with coarse bubbles was a bit offputting, but I guess sometimes this happens with a beer that pours such a big and lasting head.
