Like its namesake, this American Double Red ale is aggressive, assertively bitter, and has a deep red hue. Dominated throughout by piney hops, the toasty, bready, and mildly roasted malt bill serves as an interesting overtone to this strong hoppy ale. Pair this beer with spicy Indian food or pungent blue cheese.

Advertised as double IPA at the tap room but I think it's an imperial amber. Tasted like neither.. Almost like a porter. Did not finish my flight sample.

Growler from the brewery.
Appears very dark amber. Foamy off white head, very good head retention. big hoppy aroma - pleasant mix of fruity and pine resin. taste has the same hop flavor layered on top of slightly sweet malt. How I like my hoppy beer. Medium bodied.
