For what it is, it's a good beer. Nice vanilla and dark malt taste with a light touch of bourbon. There is nothing about it that says Belgian. Should be styled as an American Brown in my opinion.

On-tap @ Free Will Brewing's tap room in Perkasie, PA.
10 oz pour. Dark brown color with ruby highlights. Small white head that's brought back to life with a swirl of the glass. Bourbon, vanilla, and light toasted malt in the aroma. Sweet caramel and chocolate malt flavor that quickly fades and gives way to stronger vanilla and bourbon notes. Texture is very thin, too much so for the strength of the flavors. The vanilla and bourbon are both assertive and need to be supported by a bigger body. Slight alcohol heat in the finish.
Glad I tried it but not something I'll have a second time. Looked and smelled great but the flavors were hurt by the light body.

Growler from the brewery, poured into a nonic pint glass
Pours dark brown with a thin off white head. Strong oak and vanilla aroma. Taste is on the sweeter side. Medium bodied. I would have called this an American Brown Ale - no detection of any Belgian yeast flavors.
