Clear and pale straw with a decent fluffy white head and some solid lacing.

Slight funk and oak on the nose. Slightly wheaty. Very tart and acidic.

Surprisingly tart flavor, but extremely fake. Lots of green apple and funk, but the back end is bland and reminiscient of well water. Large amounts of minerals and lactic acid. Minimal light malts are present. Next to no bitterness or hop characteristics (but there slightly).

Medium-ish mouthfeel, but on the upper end of things. Pretty high carbonation and a dry, acidic finish

It drinks easy and it is decently sour, but boring, boring, boring. The second sour in a row from these guys that the finish almost makes me fall asleep.

Free Will Brewing Co. "Sour Pale Ale"
on tap at the brewery on 9 April 2016

Notes: Very clear deep gold body with yellow highlights beneath a short head of bright white. Limited retention and lacing as expected given the style. Aroma is mild as some sours go, with a slight funk of footy cheese - one with a yellow-orange rind like Tallegio, and some fruit. More fruit appears in the flavor, mainly apple. It's tart, but still balanced. Dry acidic finish as might be expected. It's certainly not a disappointment in any way, nor does it inspire.
