Thanks goes out to thebeers for this brew.
16.9 oz. Bottle
2016 Vintage
Capped/Corked
Poured into a tulip a pretty nice dark brown color, very nice carbonation, with a pretty nice small/quick light tan head, which leaves a nice medium size island and some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some blueberries, oak, funk. The taste is malty, yeasty, with some blueberries, oaky, tart, nice little funkyness. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well, with a nice dry finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Should be listed as a American Wild Ale. Thanks Arthur!

Optics are normal for the style. Both the nose & the taste lean heavy on alchohol phenols, which borders too close to acridity without crossing that line. There's some tannin flavor from the oak but it imparts nothing beyond that. Couldn't discern any blueberry. Mediocre take on a Belgian style that focuses too much on the sharp, obvious notes than the subtle ones.

Belgian dark Strong Ale aged in oak barrels with blueberries and wild yeast. Funky heaven to me. Drinks like a fine sour. If you enjoy the sour beer style and live in the PA area, this one is a "must try"...I have to grab a few more bottles before this one disappears.

Dark purple with a thick and lasting purple hued head that leaves sheets of lacing. Tart blueberry aroma. Medium to thick bodied and very creamy. Tart blueberry taste with a lactose thing going in the background. Much better than I expected. Blueberry in this is heavy, without being too much.
