8 ball black with some quick to die tan bubbles.
My old lady said it was like Huna, but better(!), but to me it was more like cinnamon raisin breakfast toast: sweeter and gooier, and not necessarily spicy or roasty, or barrel forward, but quite tasty. Over time, though, it perhaps becomes a little too sticky sweet.

2019 vintage. Poured from a bottle into a Delerium Tremens tulip
L: Inky black pour... with thin mocha head leaving a rim of lacing.
S: Strong ancho chilies... cinnamon and roast. Boozy.
T.F: Semi-sweet... roasted grains/burned sugars. Chili/vegetable and cinnamon. A bit of smoke and vanilla. Light cocoa and spice. Complex... warming and hides its robust ABV. Medium to thick bodied... sticky with smooth carbonation. Spice, roast, and sweet chocolate to finish.
O: An outstanding 'Ralphius' variant... and the flavors worked really well together. The cinnamon wasn't overpowering... the chilis added some nice flavor, and this Mexican hot-cocoa variant was delicious.

Dark brown/black appearance, decent tan head, slight spotty lacing, oily residue. Cinnamon, chili, and bourbon are bold and plentiful, with notes of bitter dark chocolate. Booze balances out the sweetness nicely. Medium to thick body, moderate carbonation.

350 ml bottle, fresh 2019 bottle
Pours like used motor oil, thick black and viscous. Tan colored head that fades eventually. Lovely pungent aroma of dark cocoa, bold cinnamon, some smoked pepper, a touch of caramel. Tastes like boozy Mexican hot chocolate. Cinnamon is up front, heavy on chocolate, and mild chile pepper finish. The bourbon is in there too. Is a touch hot, but drinks more like 10% abv than the 15+% abv that it is. Dangerously tasty. Full bodied, slick and smooth mouthfeel. Over its outstanding.

Black coffee brown with a nice red, leathery hue to it. A thin finger of soupy, tan head that’s fairly quick to dissipate. Leaves a nice crown and modest lacing.
Definite cinnamon up front in the nose. Chocolate malt and some ancho chile behind. A little stone fruit and molasses cookie behind that.
Plenty of depth to the taste. Cinnamon again stands out first. There’s also dark chocolate, milk chocolate, stone fruit, tobacco and leather. Slow-building pepper heat builds in the finish. It’s not too strong, but is still a clear accent. The barrel is definitely there, too, but much less present than the other beers in this series.
On the heavy side of medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel and just enough carbonation.
A bit too much cinnamon to my personal liking, but this is perhaps the most artfully-done of the Ralphius variants and a better-than-average BBA chile stout.
