Well, here we are: in a world with cinnamon whiskies, peach vodka’s, and, well, this. A straight up juice looking and tasting “beer.” I mean, if my grandfather who fought in the battle of Coral Reef saw me drinking this, he might slap me upside the head. Then again, he was cool as hell, so he’d probably be stoked if I was stoked. That being said, I wouldn’t exactly say that I am stoked here, but it’s not bad. It’s just straight up juice. That’s it. Maybe it could hit a little bit harder and have more depth... But I don’t know. Whatever. I’m out.
Peace!

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
-As per the brewery, "Sour ale with milk sugar, vanilla, black currant, plum, cinnamon, and cardamom. "
L: Cloudy bright maroon pour. Thin pinkish head leaves a thin ring of lacing.
S: Tart and fruity. Berries and vanilla.
T/F: Sweet/tart up front. Not really sour... but a bit tangy. Strong berry presence... fruity... currants and raspberry. Black cherry... the lactose is a nice touch. Picking up the vanilla... not so much the cardamom or cinnamon. Smooth... sticky on the tongue. More sweet/tart fruit at the finish.
O: More of a sweet/tart than a sour, but a delicious beer with complex flavors that work surprisingly well. A cool collaboration that I'm thrilled I got a chance to try. Worth seeking out!
