12 oz draft...minimal head that vanished quickly...definitely a brown ale, but not as dark as I was expecting for a chocolate coffee brown ale...thin mouthfeel with little carbonation...not much hazelnut flavor, but good coffee and intense chocolate notes...perhaps a little too sweet, probably couldn't drink more than one.

At last, a NEW beer for Happy New CAN You Believe That I Am Drinking ALL of These Beers of My Own Free Will This Sunday? (Week 766)! The CANQuest (tm) had me bogged down with previous bottle (BOOO!) reviews & this is the first truly NEW beer of the day! Natch, it's from a CAN! Yaaay!
From the CAN: "Coffee Oatmeal Brown Ale with Coffee, Chocolate, and Hazelnut"; "IBU - 20[,] °P - 20.6[,] SRM - 20".
At long last, I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. It had been a memorable week & I was hoping to eradicate some of them. It poured gorgeously, creating a beautiful just-under-two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with excellent retention. Color was a drop-dead gorgeous Brown to Dark Brown (SRM = > 22, < 27) with NE-quality clarity. Oooh, dollface, CAN we elope?!? Mouthfeel was medium, but slick. Very oily & slippy onna tongue. This seems to be a trademark of theirs. Mmm. Well, there was a good half of it gone without a moment's hesitation! 8=O Where did it all go?!? Taste was more hazelnut than chocolate, which I preferred. The hazelnut gave it a nutty, slight bitterness with the chocolate as an undercarriage. Yum!
This was like Christmas with a wee hazelnut chocolate treat in out stocking! Sehr Deutsch with ancestors from Alsace-Lorraine on Mom-Za's side & Deutchland on Pops' side.
This was like a truffle, ein amuse-bouche, to mix metaphors et langues. My Mom-Za once asked me how many languages I speak & my pat answer of ~ thirty (30) was met with a scoff. Mais-non, ma mere! I CAN read more vite mais parle, mais ma Francais est parfait (or so I would like to think).
Finish was semi-sweet, making me sad as I wished for more. 8=( YMMV.

Pours clear, dark chestnut in color, with 1/3 inch head. Taste is huge hazelnut, coffee with cream, and faint chocolate. Medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet and roasty. Tastes like really good hazelnut coffee. Not always a fan of coffee flavors, but this is exceptional. Hazelnut pops and the coffee is not overpowering. Glad to have tried this.
