We brew this one using flaked oats and a variety of specialty dark malts, 60lbs. of fresh roasted Speakeasy Coffee Company coffee, and a light addition of vanilla. The vanilla rounds out the profound coffee notes typically found in this beer adding an element of berry and milk chocolate. Smooth drinking and filled with coffee shop aromatics.

Nice brown\ruby red body with tan head. Looks like some particulate in suspension in the glass. Smell is coffee, coffee, coffee. Honestly not getting much else. I like coffee so this is all good. Taste is coffee with cream and sugar. Much sweeter than the base beer, which I prefer. The vanilla rounds out the harsh edges I get in the original beer. I think this one lets through some of the hops' earthiness too. Feel is medium bodied with light carbonation that makes it feel kind of smooth in the mouth. Overall, I like this more than the original. Less harsh bitterness here and a creamier mouth feel help significantly.

Thick, unctuous mouthfeel. The taste is smoky, chocolate, and dark. Very similar to a porter. Good amount of bitterness, and a suprising astringency in the aftertaste. Would recommend

pours dark brown, white head. aroma of coffee and strong vanilla. similar taste - is definitely sweeter than the regular COB. This is good, but I think I prefer the regular version actually. Smooth feel, medium bodied.
