Pours a dark amber with a finger of beige head. Looks dense and thick on the pour. Like a really heavy barleywine. The bubbles take their time rising to the top after the pour.
Nose is an explosion of aromatics. Coffee right away and a perfumey candy like chocolate presence. Sort of like what you would smell in Yankee Candle. Now while this smells great that perfume like fragrance typically doesn't translate well to flavor. What normally happens is it becomes tiresome when drinking, but we'll see.
Taste has more going on. Theres the coffee and the chocolate. But now you get some of the cinnamon and vanilla. You get some almond as well. Reminding me of amaretto. Now wherever that perfume like quality is coming from, it hangs heavy on the palate. Despite how unique and enjoyable and complex this brew is this unfortunately brings it down a notch for me.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with very mild carbonation. I though it was going to be denser but it actually appears to be pretty moderate. Sticky, cloying quality over time.
Overall a fun brown ale. This is my introduction to Free Will Brewing and so far not a bad start. I have a few more to review so we'll how that goes. That being said this is unique and good, but held back from greatness. Whatever was put in this brew to create that distinct personality gets in the way of something truly great. Oh well.

Pours a brownish copper color with a finger of off-white head. The nose smells like someone was baking Christmas cookies; the cinnamon and milk chocolate stand out amongst the plethora of yumminess (is that a word?). The flavor has all the adjuncts in abundance - cinnamon, coffee, and sweet chocolate.
My only criticism is that the beer qualities of this offering are almost completely overwhelmed by the adjuncts.

Pours chesnutt brown, cream colored head that fades. Very nice aroma of light cinnamon, sugared coffee, and milk. Smell is spot on with the theme. Similar flavors in the taste, on the sweet side but not cloying. Medium bodied, smooth but could be a it thicker.
