Rose-hued black with a thin khaki-colored head that quickly dissipates into a soupy crown.
Super fragrant aroma with strong orange peel, citrus zest, clove and root beer. Very Christmasy. Very little of the base shows through against its intensity.
The taste is very similar: bordering on potpourri in liquid form. There are hints of chocolate and vanilla underneath, and strong alcohol in the finish, but the taste is dominated by strong clove, with nutmeg, cinnamon, root beer, Bergamot tea and other citrus all also making impressions. The spiciness lingers on the tongue well after sipping.
Smooth, luscious, relatively thick feel.
The early Ralphius variants suffered a little from too light of a hand. This one is completely over-the-top. Blended down I think it could be great, but it’s too spicy and floral for me to enjoy completely.

This was my Christmas morning beer and it was perfect for the occasion! It was an excellent compliment to our breakfast casserole. The cinnamon, warm spice taste was perfect for Christmas.
I poured this beer from a bottle into a tall glass. Rich dark brown color with good brown head and beautiful curtain lacing. The smell and taste is very complex and satisfying. The bitters give this beer a strong cinnamon and cloves smell and taste. Pleasant booziness that warms the insides. It did indeed help to make Christmas merry!
I was happy to get this beer as our family has a pit bull named Ralphie!
