Into a clear glass liter mug go the entire contents of a pint can. Surprisingly, the liquid is black coffee brown, not lightened at all by the milk solids. Not much of a tan head was produced by the pour. It is aromatic, with both chocolate and peanut butter measuring up to the roasted malt. But, there's less chocolate and even a little less peanut butter to taste relative to smell. Alcohol makes its presence in the taste, but this is an Imperial Stout. Still, the delivery is smooth and that is mitigating. Dark chocolate makes its impact during the finish and aftertaste. Its lack of bolder flavors is compensated by how smoothly, yet cleanly this drinks. A little more peanut butter wouldn't have hurt, but that's true for most in real life

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Ordered from the brewery last fall, and the can got buried in my cellar. Illegible date stamp on can bottom.
the beer pours a rich cola brown color with a spongey khaki colored head of about 1 cm. This foam fades slowly to a sturdy edge layer and thin surface covering. Some scattered lacing when I swirl or take a sip of the glass.
Aroma is some roasted malt and dark chocolate mixing with some husky peanuts and a bit of sweeter peanut butter too, but the nose is not sweet dominant for sure, more on the roasty spectrum.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and fine tingly carbonation. Light coating on my palate when I take sip, but not really sticky feel.
Flavor is a little more sweet chocolate, but roasted malt and husky peanuts take over and the lingering roast and slightly bitter chocolate / high cacao note. No hint of booziness and no hop character comes through. Fairly dangerous drinking beer with 11% not making any showing. glad to have tried this one, its not overly sweet, which is more of what I expected when I popped the can. Worth buying again IMO.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours jet black with light brown head. Extensive lacing. the nose is lactose, nuts, chocolate. Not getting much else. The taste is another story. Much more coming through here. Really nice layers of roasted nuts, chocolate, vanilla, slight burnt caramel, roasted malts, and some brown sugar. The net result is a slightly bitter and roasty beer with a great aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. I'm really enjoying this one!

Pours black with a bit of head that turns into bubbles at the glass. Strong peanutty aroma. Not much of that in the flavor, however, leans more towards chocolate and roasty malt. Some coffee notes as well. Medium mouthfeel, doesn't have the big silkiness of a BBA stout. Hides the alcohol well.

Finger n' a half of tan head condenses to a clingy ring. Some small islands of lace. Body is as black as expected. It looks the part. Smells boozier than anticipated. It's the first thing I pick out and has me wondering if I opened the barrel-aged one instead. I didn't, but it sure smells like it. Not that it smells like bourbon; just boozy. I get leather as well. Nothing much in the way of peanuts (label says peanuts, though I know peanut butter powder is en vogue these days), but there is some chocolate there. Not really feeling this on the nose, to be honest. Not that its offensive; it's just not what I expected. Taste improves things. Big, roasty stout notes. Nutty on the mid-palette, though I wouldn't know it was from a peanut addition if it weren't written on the label. Slightly boozy and drying on the finish. Thin and oily mouthfeel. Kind of a disappointing beer. I really enjoyed the coconut chocolate variant I had awhile back, but this falls well short of that. Set my expectations too high, I guess.

16 oz can

Jet black in color, thick tan colored head. Aroma and taste is a nice mix and balance of the savory of the peanut butter and sweetness of milk chocolate. Full bodied, slick feel
