This is my all time favorite dark lager/dunkel and my favorite Freewill beer. Deep color with a wonderful dark bready smell and tastes as such too. Lovely head when poured from tap. Not super heavy like a lot of dunkel lagers are.

Poured from 16 oz can into a pilsner glass. Fresh beer straight from the source. Pours dark mahogany with ruby highlights. Off white head pours thick then falls to a ring. Good bit of lacing left behind. Smell is fresh dark bread, malty and nutty. Taste is smooth, very smooth, sweet entry with a nice hit of roasted malt. Middle sees a bit of bitterness and the beer starts to clean up nicely. Finishes with a bit of dryness and a roasted nut aftertaste. Feel is medium bodied, soft carbonation, a nice lager feel. Overall, nice feel, flavorful, easy drinking. This is a winner.

16 oz can
pours a dark chesnut brown, light gets through the edge of the glass, it's clear when held up to the light. cream colored head, decent lacing. nice aroma - a little toasty, like crusty rustic bread, with some underlying mild cocoa. similar taste, nice depth to the malt flavor, but not sweet, a fairly dry finish. very well balanced. medium bodied, good carbonation level, drinks easy but a little slick on the tongue.
