16oz can courtesy of JayO'Rear. Slightly dinged up can (thanks, USPS), with no date, but Helles isn't such a hop heavy style to where age is the dominant factor (within reason, anyway).

Poured into my Olympia "lager flute," this was a crystal clear golden amber with a nice, sudsy, off-white head with lots of lace. Really great looking lager.

Sweet malt and floral & grassy hop aromas, in that order, pretty standard and authentic for the style.

Similar to the nose. Starts out with a sweet and lightly bready maltiness. There's a hoppiness that kicks in shortly afterwards that is more herbal and grassy than the nose indicated. The hops balance things out, but this is a primarily malty beer. Very lightly crisp on the finish.

Light bodied, but not pilsener light. Finishes clean and lightly crisp.

Really nice Helles lager. I feel like this really nails the style in a way that others don't always get. Some folks seem to think a Helles and a Pils are interchangeable. They're not. A Helles should be a little more malty, a little less crisp, a little less hoppy. Free Will nailed it. Thanks, Jay!

Poured a clear amber color, not crystal clear but transparent. Off white head formed a fat finger high and left semi circle rings down the glass.
The aroma was faint, but I did get a little malts and spice of some sort, quite pleasant.
The taste was more distinct than I thought it would be, clearly malt driven with grass and that spice, faint but really good.
The feel was more viscous than I expected, but it worked.
I enjoyed this very much, thanks Jay for sending it my way!

Pale gold the colour of apple juice. Not quite crisp clear, but clear enough to make out the words on the can through the glass. Lovely mounds of lacy white foam... piles up two fingers high before settling into mountainous continents. Sticky patches left on the glass as it recedes.

Nose is spicy/grassy with clean biscuity malts underneath. A touch of honey sweetness and waving grains.

Taste follows largely the same. Lead in features the bready malts and the faint sweetness takes a more nectar quality. Culminates in a light earthy bitterness, and a mild spice.

Staccato carbonation compliments the light spicy note, and teh dull bitter finish lingers, but doesn't overstay its welcome. Body is moderate, but finishes less crisp and more almost a touch watery, which is a surprising twist, given the rest of it.
Overally this is a really enjoyable and refreshing helles, and, as my first beer from these guys, makes me excited for the other cans @JayORear sent my way with his steathy ninja strike. Thanks Jay!!
