Received a 375 ml 2022 edition bottle from @jzeilinger on 9-23-25.
Beer poured black with a nice tan head that has a wee bit of hang time.
Nose is coffee with some chocolate, cherries and oranges, and vanilla.
Taste is heavy roasted malts that elicit some coffee and chocolate. The cocktail adjuncts give me cherry primarily, some cinnamon, and a touch of orange. The barrel brings some vanilla and works to balance this out very nicely leaving some roast in the end.
Mouthfeel is heavy bodied with each sip being very soft and smooth.
Overall, this Old Fashioned inspired edition is very nicely done. Thank you so much J!

On tap.
A - Pitch black pour with thin tan lacing.
S - Light char, chocolate roast, and cherry / citrus on the nose.
T - Cherry, citrus, Bourbon, very light chocolate malt with some roast, bitter citrus rind, and ends with a lingering Old Fashioned on the backside.
M - Thick, light syrupy body with some warming on the way down. Leaves a sugary residue on the lips.
O - This is an interesting twist on an already fantastic Southeast PA beer.

on draft at Spinnerstown Tavern - this version is made with the spent fruit that Spinnerstown uses for their Anna's house flavored bourbon.
Jet black in color, thin tan colored head. Great complexity of darkest chocolate, espresso, bourbon, savory spice, cherry, citrus zest, vanilla. Thick, full bodied, slick mouthfeel.

Poured from a 12.7 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly black pour with thin mocha colored head. Falls fast... negligible lacing.
S: Rich and sweet.. loads of fruit and spice. Apricot, cinnamon, cherry, and booze.
T.F: Sweet and decadent. Roasted grains... bourbon, vanilla, oak, and cinnamon. Cocoa. Fruity with apricot and raisin. Very light citrus rind... cherry comes in at the finish with more roast and spice. Medium to thick bodied. Low carbonation... smooth and oily on the tongue. ABV dangerously hidden. This is a monster at 15+%
O: An outstanding Ralphius variant. I was a little skeptical given the amalgamation of fruits/spices but this worked fantastically together. Wish I had a few more bottles. This one's a treat.
