Wheat Ale with Orange Peel and Cinnamon. Brewed with red wheat and Munich malt, dosed with dried orange peel and cinnamon sticks hot side, then fermented with our preferred hefe strain. For such a light, easy going beer - we feel this one displays a beautiful multi-layered flavor profile. Hefeweizen yeast is certainly present on the nose, showcasing both clove and subtle banana characteristics made more complex with classic winter spice aromatics. Delicate citrus and biscuit is immediately present at first sip, followed by notes of cinnamon swirled banana bread and vanilla.

Not a holiday beer fan, this one is typical of a spiced beer and not one tat I personally enjoy.

From an undated can into a tulip. The can artwork is kind of cool, I guess.
Pours a very murky dark orangish brown with about half a finger of white head. Poor retention and very little lacing.
Getting wheat beer notes on the nose. Some lemon, clove, light bread, just a touch of cinnamon.
Taste follows but is quite mild. Wheat beer zest, just a hint of cinnamon that gets a little stronger with warming.
Thin mouthfeel. Almost no carbonation. Slight cinnamon aftertaste.
Kind of a clunker. Drinkable, but only because it doesn't really taste like anything.

No date on the can, but I'm guessing this was a Holiday seasonal based on the toy soldier on the label.
Pours a clear amber with a solid two fingers of head. If you let it sit for a minute like I did it leaves an absolutely solid wall of lace. Smells like a malty sweet wheat. The typical clove and banana scents are more background notes, allowing the malt to shine a bit more. I don't know that I'm getting orange peel but the cinnamon is there in a vague spicy sense. Tastes pretty typical of the style; bubblegum notes with light spice and citrus. Its a bit muted, but that may be due to it's (presumed) age. It's pleasant enough, regardless. Prickly carbonation on the tongue. I'm having a hard time deciding how to describe the mouthfeel beyond that. It's not thick, exactly, but it does kind of coat the mouth and tongue a bit. I'm not terribly crazy about this style (especially in cold weather), but this is a perfectly tasty beverage that I may well reach for again.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Cloudy toffee brown pour with big foamy off-white head. Falls fast... solid lacing.
S: Banana, yeast, cinnamon, and wheat. Grainy.
T.F: Typical wheat beer. Grains and yeast. Banana, cinnamon, orange peel, and lemongrass. Citrus and a bit of spice. Medium to light bodied... well carbonated.
O: A fairly standard wheat beer with some orange peel and cinnamon. Easy drinking but nothing special.
