Sampling a 375 ml bottle at cellar temp and poured into my snifter. Acquired via trade from a pickup at Ralphius Day....is that the name?
Anyway, beer has been in my cellar since it arrived here.
The beer pours jet black with no light passing through the glass. a minimal beige creamy dense head foams up barely and is a sturdy edge layer quickly after the pour.
Aroma is rich dark fudge, some charred wood, high cacao chocolate, some light bourbon and fruit, but not really any sweet aromas.
First sip reveals a pretty thick body with sticky texture and soft carbonation. Definitely coats my lips and palate with each sip.
Flavor is dark fudge and high cacao with some berry fruitiness, but not really sweet, dark chocolate dipped blackberry seems to capture the flavor note. Hints of bourbon and then a lingering chocolate note. Never any hops and the ABV is dangerously well hidden here.
This is a winner from Free Will. very glad to have tried it and wish I had a second bottle!

Matte black with a half finger of soupy dark mocha head. Decent retention for the series.
Chocolate, grape jelly, and hints of vanilla in the nose.
Grape jelly. A touch of vanilla. Nice heat. A little ash. Creamy chocolate finish with a hint of nut.
Creamy body with restrained carbonation.
Delicious. Another great one.
