Matte black with a thin, fizzy, dark mocha-colored head that quickly settles into a modest crown. Some alcohol legs, but no significant lacing.
Peppery rye and vanilla-tinted bourbon layer over caramel chocolate brownies in the nose, with flashes of sherry behind.
Delightful caramel flavors in the taste, mingling with both strong peppery rye and some more distant sherry notes, followed by bitter baker’s chocolate. Strong alcohol heat throughout.
Sticky, medium-bodied feel with tight carbonation.
Like 90% of its brethren, this Ralphius variant is an absolute treat. Tons of layers to ponder over, including some very strong rye character. It has rough edges that I enjoy; I’m sure a little time would smooth them out beautifully, though.

on draft at the brewery - they are only serving in 3 oz taster glasses
inky black color, not much head. huge aroma and flavor - dark chocolate, oak, peppercorn, mollasses. Boozy but not crazy. Slick oily mouthfeel, full bodied
