Double IPA brewed with plenty of flaked oats and a touch of wheat, whirlpool hopped with the unique new favorite of ours - experimental HBC 472, then dry hopped with Sabro, Simcoe, and BRU-1. This one has a complex, pretty wild bouquet of flavors. Tropical pineapple and coconut on the nose most definitely, followed by notes of sweet pineapple upside down cake, maraschino cherry, strawberry, and a brisk, almost bubblegum-like finish.

Reviewed on day of release. Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, bright tangerine color with a robust, creamy, milk-white had and thick, soapy lacing. It has a big, fragrant nose with tangerine, pineapple, lemon peel, grapefruit, onion, and bubblegum. The taste is bold and balances fresh, sweet pineapple and tangerine, tart lemon, red berry. The BRU-1 hops are used well. There are also notes of coconut from the Sabro and HBC 472 hops. The mouth feel is pleasantly creamy and while the 8% ABV gives it good substance, it doesn't drink like a big beer. Overall, Nightmare Logic is is an ambitious but effective recipe and it's thoroughly enjoyable.
