Blended imperial stout aged in a Canadian whiskey barrel, apple brandy barrel, Basil Hayden bourbon barrel and Templeton Rye whiskey barrel. Sounds cool to me.
It looks like there's going to be no head but half a pinky or so froths up from the oily black ether. For a moment, anyway. It thins to a ring in quick order. It looks the part. Smells pretty fantastic. Lots of barrel notes pulling me in many different directions. Also has some fudginess. Doesn't smell overly sweet, though you never know until you try it. So... yeah, really nice. Well balanced. Half-baked brownies and tons of barrel juice. I feel like the oily barrel influence is thinning the beer out a bit, but I also think it helps matters. This might be sickly sweet without it. Much love for this one. Almost on par with Breakfast Epiphanies. Speaking of which, is that stuff available again this year? I need to go investigate...

on draft at the brewery, served in snifter glass
on menu: "blended imperial stout aged in a canadian whisky barrel, apple brandy, basil hayden bourbon barrel, and templeton rye whiskey barrel"
pours a very thick oily black color, just a thin whisp of head. Great complex barrel aroma on top of rich malts. But not "hot". extremely thick and viscous mouthfeel.
