Pours pitch black, opaque, and viscous. Thin, weak, lackluster head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, vanilla, oak, spiced rum, and caramel. Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted malt, vanilla, spiced rum, caramel, oak and brown sugar. The rum barrel comes through loud and clear bringing lovely flavor and layers of complexity. its delicious and an excellent showcase beer. Feel is medium to full bodied. Smooth but lively carbonation.
Overall this is another absolute homerun from Free Will - these 2-year Ralphius variants are some of the best barrel aged stouts I have come across.
