The pour that emptied the contents of a pint can fit comfortably inside a clear glass liter mug. There's some off-white foamness, but it's close to being a beer head. The color of the brew is full apricot-amber and it's opaque, without being murky. The aroma is hoppy, ranging from reminders of citrus and tropical fruits, with some resinous traits as well. It drinks fruity, but most of the citrus aspect doesn't follow into the taste. The brew is sweeter than expected and the anticipated resinous bite is nearly missing. The hazing starches, most likely comprised largely of oats, really knock down a hoppy bite. That's at the expense of adding a noticeable dry stickiness that hurts the mouthfeel. Mitigating that flaw is the way it disguises the level of alcohol. No doubt the starches in the wort also cause the sweetness that lasts from front to finish. The head was enduring and the glass lacing acceptable. Overall, it drinks a little too sweetly and lacks a nice dry and hoppy finish, but both are within the limits of acceptability for the style. Obviously, there are plenty beer drinkers that like a sweeter version of IPA, with less hoppy bite, yet with a solid dose of alcohol
