This Imperial Stout was aged for a year in an Old Forester bourbon barrel, sourced by our friends at Iron Abbey in Horsham, Pennsylvania, with vanilla beans. We taste notes of chocolate-covered caramels, coconut, and licorice. A total of ~247 bottles were produced.

This is essentially a dessert in a glass. Sweet vanilla, bourbon, cocoa, roast, and no hint of booze. A delicious, albeit rather sweet, treat that is worth getting.

Very dark brown with a reddish hue and thin dark khaki head. Big vanilla on top of rich Ghirardelli chocolate brownie batter with a hint of coconut in the nose. The same carries to the taste, joined by some almond and a distant cherry note from the bourbon. Exceptionally thick, creamy mouthfeel. Vanilla is often overdone, but it’s working great here.
