Matte black with a thin, red-tinted mocha head. Decent retention for the series before settling into a lasting wisp and crown.
Malt balls, carbon dioxide, toffee and leather in the nose.
Similar tasting, with some caramel and toffee sweetness hidden beneath darker malt ball and leather flavors. Some cola and little pine needle. Hints of almond and wood contribute to a fairly strong pilly bitterness. Slow building, but strong alcohol heat in the finish.
Creamy, velvety feel with a little zippy carbonation just cutting through.
A little more incongruent than most in the series. I like the hairy alcohol heat, but the nutty, woody, pilly thing isn’t doing it for me in this one.
