This Irish red is a beefed up version of the traditional style. Notes of caramel and roast in the aroma lead to an assertive malt profile with notes of toffee and dried fruit. This full bodied, stoplight red beer is balanced by just the right amount of hop bitterness and finishes with a mild sweetness. Pair this beer with roasted pork loin, bbq beef brisket, or traditional cornbeef and cabbage.

Poured a freshly filled growler into pint glass. 5.9% abv
Appearance- Pours a deep ruby red, with a thick bubbly light tan head. Decently clear.
Smell- Grainy, hints of molasses, caramel.
Taste- Quite grainy, fresh biscuit with just a little bit of toasted flavor. Like bits of smashed cracker mixed with bread. Becomes much sweeter and the caramel notes increase substantially. Toffee flavor as well. Finishes quite dry, and sharply loses the sweet flavors, and instead switches to a bitter ending.
Mouthfeel- Medium in body with medium carbonation.
Overall- A satisfying, malty/sweet/bitter red ale. Complex, yet right to the point. Enjoying this beer in March, so timely for an Irish red. Easy drinking and lots of taste.

Canned on 02/09/18. Enjoyed on 02/11/18.
L. Deep red, pretty much brown, slightly off-white bubbly head which reduces to bubbly patches.
S. Toasty, bready, clean and crisp, lager-y, leafy bitterness, slightly caramely.
T. Slightly bitter, light toffee, toast, gets sweeter toward the end with honey and a bit of dried dark fruit, finishes more bitter.
F. Full side of medium, pretty smooth, not dry in the end.
O. In my opinion, this a very good, balanced red ale. I would buy this stuff again. Cheers!

I may have a shallow review of it but it was pretty good. I didn't think I was in the mood for a red but a sample brought me around.

Handsome coppery red in the tall glass. Lovely head. Malty and rich with a nice sweet kiss. The carbonation in the mouth is just as inviting.
Roasted malt with a caramel taste. Browned biscuits and hops. A nice beery, malted smell. Just bitter enough with a very restrained hoppiness. Sprightly taste underlain by a mellow malt. One of the better Red/Amber beers I've had, and if rated as an Irish Red it must be the best of that mangy breed. Sensationally drinkable.
Had this on tap at Earth Bread + Brewery in Germantown. [Transcribed from notes - 05/29/2012 visit.]
