Not usually a big fan of the Red beers, but this was much better than I expected. Had with dinner at New Albany Country Club, and perhaps the fact that someone else was buying inflated my perception at bit. I like to buy local and will look for this one at my grocery.

Full of flavor due to the rye and a beautiful red color. Don't expect a huge floral aroma though. Excellent taste and unique flavor for a different twist on an IPA.

Body is a clear amber, with a soapy off-white head. Aroma is citrus and piney hops, with a dash of grainy caramel malts. Flavor is hoppy first, citrus and pine with a dash of tropical fruits and a nice balanced malt backbone. Feel is juicy, medium bodied, medium carb. Nice beer overall.

This one is more malt heavy then I care for in my IPA's. The rye gives it an earthiness. Hops are present as is the bitterness but the nice floral aspect you would expect is lacking. Plenty of bittering hops and malt sweetness but almost work against each other rather than balance together. The mother is that cloying stickiness you expect in an IPA but everything else is just out of balance. A decent beer but not what I would expect for the style hence the low marks

Skeleton Red brewed by Four String Brewing Company, with an ABV of 6.00% This American IPA pours out a nice light red brown color, with a small off white head. The head of this brew goes away fast. I really like the color of this brew. The smell is rich with roasted grians and malts. You also pick up a touch of roasted hops in the smell. So far this brew seems to milder than most on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. Spotty lacing to this brew, but it does have some. Now for the taste it is , mild but blood with flavors. You pick up on the smoothness of roasted grians and malts at first. There is a slight bit of hops but is smooth compared to other IPA's on the market. However Skeleton Red is a really well balanced brew, there is nothing overpowering about this American IPA. I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down, it is hard to pick up on the 6.00+ ABV in this brew. This is a fine drinking IPA, even though I feel this is more of a red ale. The mouth feel of Skeleton Red is Roasted, Smooth, clean and refreshing. Overall I'm giving this Red American IPA a 4.50 out of 5. I would look this brew up again. Four String Brewing Company, did a real nice job with this brew.

Bought a 6pck of Skeleton Red from Kroger just down the road. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had hints of pine hop. The taste was bitter leaning but easy to drink. There was pine spice present. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer probably my favorite from 4 strings

Skeleton Red | Four String Brewing Company. Poured from the can into a pint glass, this brew has a two finger thick head off-white, with webbed lacing, and a clear deep amber brown body with a reddish tinge to it.
Smells like generous helpings of grapefruit, tangerine, and clementine. Can't really pick up on the rye too well, if any.
I taste a very slightly sweet-then-tart version of the scent, along with just a small bit of rye flavor with no "oomph" whatsoever. Not even really much hops flavor, either, to be fair. Just not much of anything that stands out here, really.
The mouthfeel here is medium-light with mild carbonation.
Overall, I'll give Skeleton Red | Four String Brewing Company a rating of a 4. Not bad per se, but certainly mislabled as a Rye IPA. There's got to be that earthy spiciness going on in a well-brewed RIPA, IMO& this just fell flat.

12 oz 2015 can into a lager glass.
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy, dark red-amber with a large, fluffy, off-white head. Very nice lacing and very good retention.
Aroma: Moderately strong and hoppy; dank, floral and earthy. Unappealing.
Flavor: Medium+ bitterness; About average level of hops for an American IPA. Some spicy rye notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: not bad but not recommended. I had this paired with another Ohio Rye IPA, Jackie O’s Hop Ryot, which was way more fruity, less earthy, less bitter, more complex, better balanced and lighter colored, but which sported a less frothy and durable head.
