This beer settles down with almost no head, it is a dark, deep amber to black color and in the light it shows a lightly hazy, almost opaque, amber colored beer. The aroma is lightly sour with some lactic notes to it. This reminds me of the Rodenbach Red, though it is not as complex. Oh god, this is full on infected, though I must admit it is still somewhat pleasing for this sour beer lover. If this had been on purpose it would have been my favorite of the bunch. There is not much roast character here and the sourness and a light, funky, astringent note dominate this beer. There is a hint of smoky malt here, but just barely. This reminds me a bit of sour cherries. I am sort of enjoying this beer, despite, or in spite of, it problems.
