Had this on tap at the Papago Brewery while on a bit of a Beer Quest.
A deep brown to black with high lights of garnet, the head modest in size, frothy to the max, nice medium chocolate brown color and the lace a decent covering sheet. Nose is sweet vanilla malt, lightly toasted grains, a hint of coffee, fresh and spicy, a real treat to the senses, starts sweet and malt laden, top is a bit thinner than I like. Finish has a nice hop spicy bite, not overpowering by any means, moderate to light carbonation, very dry aftertaste, and a drinkable middle of the road porter.
