Pillowy tan head, very gentle light low carbonated body. Smooth and silky with a roasty oaty aftertaste followed by lingering bitterness. Improves the more you drink. On draught on warm spring afternoon and may benefit from being a little colder.

On gravity at W J Kavanagh, Dublin.
Black with violet-tinged foam. Peat, meat and coffee grounds on the nose.
Sweet mocha up front, an ashy roasty bite and faint blackberry to end.
Sweet licorice and black currant finish and roasty linger. Light to medium, silky, soft, oily.
Doesn't live up to the imposing nose. Drinks lighter than expected, like many oatmeal stouts. But goes down so easy!
