Appearance: Pours espresso brown with a one finger beige head; moderate retention but squiggles of lacing hang around
Smell: Roasted malt, chocolate, Bourbon and oak
Taste: The Bourbon makes an impact early here, joining the roasted malt, oak and chocolate tones; some dark fruit and cherry tones make an appearance, after the swallow and the finish is somewhat fruity
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate to high carbonation; lacks the mouthfeel one would expect for an 11% beer
Overall: With over two years in the bottle, the coffee has faded and new flavors have developed; while interesting, the beer is heading in a direction away from the brewer's intent, I think
Thanks, SPLITGRIN, for the opportunity

The third of three 3rd Anniversary beers released by Country Boy, May 2015.
Take the solid Black Gold Porter, toss it in bourbon barrels, then finish it with espresso beans. Yep, sign me up.
Poured from a 750ml at a recent bottleshare, the espresso is not fading, and in fact might be getting stronger. This wasn't a bad thing, IMO.
