When you're six, you reach for the juice box. And that's exactly what the Country Boys are doing for their birthday. But when you're a brewery you layer that fruit juice on a pale ale because that's what the hops and malt want to do anyway. And that's more than just child's play.
Juicy Pear Pale Ale comes with an unassuming golden color that's cast in a light amber hue at its depths. Its foamy ivory cap pops with a truly juicy scent of pear. Citrus and herbal aromas play into the branch ripe character of fruit before heading the precession over to a taste of honey, caramel and graham cracker.
As the middle palate is awash with pear juice, a succulence overtakes the session and gives the resting malt sweetness a taste of fructose, powdered sugar and sticky fruitiness. But being a pale ale, the hops bring grapefruit, orchard and mango flavors before trending playfully grassy, chive-like and peppery on the late palate.
Medium bitterness allows the ale to carry also a medium body with a firm malt sweetness adding balance and support to both the hops and fruit even though the pear character waivers late. Crisp, clean, refreshing and highly drinkable, the beer's medium length aftertaste is of light pine, citrus peel and fresh grass clippings.
