Deep, dark and strong, Country Boy's Holiday Ale is build jut like the winter weather. Caught somewhere between porter, scottish ale and brown ale, the winter warmer does just the trick.
Dark brown and capped with a blanked of light tan froth, Holiday Ale draws in the nose with a deep caramelize scent of toasted nuttiness, coffee and cocoa. Deep sweetness goes beyond caramel and hinges on sorghum, root beer and slightly burnt sugars. and a honey soaked spice of sarsaparilla, holiday spice and broad hop balance. Full but drinking as relaxed as smaller brown ale, the alcohol isn't quite the deterrent to prevent fast consumption as the ale is easy to drink.
The holiday ale is a modestly spiced beer that lets the malt profile shine. Although malty, the session isn't excessively sweet weighted or lumbered, and perfect for handling the in-laws during the season.
