The beer world has a new darling, and her name is Dolcita. She promises to be sweet, zesty, racy and modern- a true tall drink of daiquiri manifested in hoppy form.
Country Boy Brewing embraces the new hop on the block with a single hop Alpha Experiment to celebrate all that Dolcita has to offer, starting with a bright golden pour and only a modest hop haze. Waves of aroma fill the nose with a fruit cocktail of citrus, stone fruit, tropical fruit and delicate herbal nuance. As the malt sweetness splashes the tongue, hints of caramel, toast, honey and nuttiness start to frame a granola-like underpinning. But the rush of hops command the middle palate with a burst of tangerine and pineapple. An undercurrent of apricot and peach almost suggest a coconut and mango balance as the mind really recognizes a taste of peach daiquiri with an herbal hop bite to close.
Medium bodied and smoothly rounded with bitterness, the hop-leaning ale carries a crisp and moderately dry tone into a cleanly bitter aftertaste spiced with verbena, tea leaf and fresh spruce.
