With a sense of refreshment, high character, and low complication- Our Daily Red meets the needs that we place on ale. It's an easy-drinking ale that balances the straight-forward flavors and textures of malt and hops to near perfection.
Deep amber in color, the beer demonstrates its certain "red" origins, and does so with a garnet body and copper highlights. Modest carbonation pulls from the beer and delicately tops the beer with a crown of off-white foam. It's moderate retention and lace gives it an English-like attitude.
Mild to moderate aromas of toffee and bread crust rise to the nose with a balance from citrusy American hops. Light pine and grapefruit are the perfect scents for added complexities to the sweet smelling malts.
Deliciously flavored with caramel, toffee, and crusted bread- the beer celebrates well its employment of fresh kilned barley, light toast, and overall hearty grain sweetness. Shying away from molasses or brown sugar, the hops draw even with the sharp and citrusy taste of white grapefruit and orange peel that balance the malt sweetness, particularly at middle palate. As the beer trails into finish, the sweetness begins to recede and the citrus hop flavor turns to mild resinous bitterness in a quick and crisp taste to close the session.
Medium bodied, the light carbonation provides a short creamy texture, much to the delight of the early palate. As the carbonation fades, it takes with it much of the residual sweetness and allows the hop dryness and impressive alcohol warmth to crispen the beer and give it a refreshing texture to finish.
Our Daily Red is a more fortified taste and texture than what's normal for red ales. Despite the amplified taste and feel, the ale retains the impeccable balance and drinkability that keeps beer drinkers returning, glass after glass. It is simply the beer that meets the beer drinker's needs on any daily basis.
