Picked-up a six pack of cans at Ocean Beverage Discount Liquor in Brigantine. My first brew reviewed from these guys, but I believe that I have had on draft before. No canned-on date that I could decipher. A solid LAB, would get again.

Tuckahoe Brewing Company "Snack Session IPA"
12 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 01/10/19 10:42 EMPIRE STRIKES SNACK"
Notes via stream of consciousness: Labeled at 4.2% ALC. / VOL. and 45 IBUs. It's poured a fairly light colored gold beneath a finger-thick head of pillowy white. It's hazy, just as hazy as a Belgian witbier. The aroma is citrusy with some sweet orange but not all that bright. Had i not known this was a "session India pale ale" I'd have thought it was a standard pale ale. On to the flavor... it's citrusy over a light bit of grainy malt followed by a lot of citrus pith and resin in a bitter finish. It may only be 45 IBUs but there's not a lot of malt there to balance that. Looking back I still have a solid surface covering and some pretty nice lacing. If this was clear it'd score well for appearance. The more I drink it the more I become used to it, and the less overly bitter it seems. I guess to a certain extent that's the case with most session IPAs. I'm getting some grapefruit and some pine, as well as some yeasty fruitiness that's more orchard-like. Ahhhh, I don't know, that bitterness is still hitting me pretty hard and I'm not sure I can accept its balance. It lists the malts and hops on the label and the lineup looks pretty good but I don't feel I'm getting the complexity that it should have. Still, for 4.2% it's got a nice maltiness to it and plenty of hops - just too many bittering hops. In the mouth it's light bodied and delicately crisp. I've got no problems there. I guess you just have to be a guy who likes bitter IPAs, that's all.

On tap in a pint glass.
Hazy caramel color, 1F white cream head, lots of lacing in the form of nice looking rings.
Piney aroma with caramel malt.
Bready malt flavor with some pine and floral notes.
Lingering hop finish with slight bitterness. Pretty sturdy for the style.
A worthy summer hop fix.
