A: dark almost opaque. creamy tan head about 1/2" thick. carbonated well and it leaves thick lacing as it goes down.
S: rich maltiness, the maris otter really comes through. Chocolate with slight roast. subtle hop aroma
T: Sweat malty chocolate goodness. Very attractive porter and true to the style. Light coffee and somewhat nutty. Hopped very well and slightly woody
M: Beer sits well in the mouth with exceptional carbonation. Goes down smooth and leave you wanting more.
O: great porter. very well balance and true to the style. I will definitely be drinking more of this!

Apperance is black with tight tan head. Served in a standard pint glass; no light penetrates. Smell is light with just a hint of chocolate. Taste is medium-strong chocolate and coffee with short finish. Light carbonation and penetrating flavor lends to pleasant mouthfeel.
A great low-medium ABV porter. Busiest tap handle the day I visited White Flame.

Pours black with an off white 1 finger head. Nice lacing left on the glass once the head recedes.
Aromas of milk chocolate along side malty tones. There may be a pinch of coffee and ashtray (in a good way) in there as well.
Mild coffee and cocoa notes with a warm roasty aftertaste. Some yeast flavors are present trying to fight through at the end.
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being a full mouthfeel, this is about a 3. Carbonation is fairly mild helping to create as much feel as possible bringing it to an average rating.
There are some good things going on with this but I would like to see each flavor amped up a bit. It is a solid offering considering the 5% ABV.
