12 oz. on tap at brewery (August 9, 2014)

L: cloudy yellow with slight head of white foam

S: peanuts, nutty peanut sauce ... cucumbers, too, but the nutty note is definitely there

T: a bit of cucumber for sure; some of that nut/peanut; plenty citrus, tart lemon over time; the nuts linger in the aftertaste; dries out at end

F: solid, like a wit, light and dry

O: fantastic spin on the witbier, one I like better than the classic version ... I could drink a ton of this

64 oz growler pours a very hazed gold color with a fair amount of fine-bubbled white head. Not a whole lot for retention or lace.

Nose has a lot more cucumber than I thought it would, very strong atop a peanut butter yeastiness and muted spices.

Taste is a little muddled with the heavy yeast load, but the cucumber flavor is nice. I was hoping for the stellar Great White Buffalo witbier they make with some notes of cucumber. This is obviously not the same base beer. Its decently tasty though, with fresh cucumber skins being the most prevalent flavor. Most of the spices are lost between the malted wheat, nutty yeast and cucumber flavors...but thats ok cause this beer has a lot going on as is. Decent and worth a try for its uniqueness, but unlikely I will go back for another growler.
