Can a porter be playful? You bet your nutz it can! Let's just agree that hazelnuts and honey are a perfect pair, so it was only natural we put them in a beer together. This robust porter starts out all chocolatey, but surprises you with a pop of earthy honey sweetness, and finishes clean with notes of caramel and hazelnut.

Pours a pitch black color with a thin foamy head. Head retention is mild. Lacing is good. Has a sweet and boozy aroma. There is hazelnut and honey definitely present. Same goes with taste, but there is a hint of caramel at the end. Heavy bodied with mild to moderate carbonation.

Poured from 22oz bottle into a Buffalo Bayou tulip glass.
Look: Dark brown in color, some mocha colored head dissipated immediately, like crazy fast.
Smell: Roasty malts, kinda nutty. some honey sweetness in there as well. Smells a little like soda.
Taste: Tastes like a brown ale. Slightly nutty, sweetness, but not really like honey. No hazelnut anywhere to be found. Very slight tartness. Maybe some cardboard on the finish. Weird.
Feel: thin, watery.
Overall: Not the beer I remember having on tap a few weeks ago. I remember the hazelnut really shining and enjoying it before. Not sure what happened here. Interested to see more reviews come in and see if maybe something went awry in the bottling? Who knows. Not going to buy another bottle thats for sure.
