Pours opaque black with one full inch of khaki head that settles to a thin film on top and leaves heavy spots of lace. A steady stream of tiny bubbles rise from the bottom during the drink down. Very nice.
Smell is of smokey burnt wood up front with roasted malt and a hint of coffee on the finish.
Taste is of roasted malt, dark chocolate and faint coffee. ABV is undetectable.
Mouthfeel is on the thicker side of medium bodied with high carbonation. Silky smooth.
I believe that this one can stand toe-to-toe with any 'Baltic', 'Imperial' or 'Smoked' porter offered by any of the heavy hitters in the craft beer landscape. Very impressive.
