Copenhagen 4/4 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Very Grey label with some elevated railway tracks. Quite subdued for a beer with such a colorful name.

Pours clear golden yellow with a white head. Stable. Settles as a thin flimsy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is of fermented fruit with citric notes. A little musty. Overrie peach and mango. Grapefruit.

Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Almost flat texture.

Flavor is bitter with only hints of fruity sweetness. Lingering aftertaste with a dry finish.

American in a slightly British way without too much modern stuff like carbonation.

Very smooth out the cask - pure bronze with a white head that dissipates quickly. Smooth hops on the nose, sweet malt on the tongue with caramel and slight floral graininess. Sweet and sour on the finish. Super smooth and sweet without being syrupy on the mouth. Much better than I remember it being.

L- Light amber, clear pours with 1Cm white head that is holding pretty well.
S- Fruity, distinct peach notes. I could smell that from 20cm away!
T- Oh My ... it is bitter! This much be one of the most hoppy-bitter beers I have ever had, it is completely OTT!
F- Brutally dry, what they describe on the can as 'generously flavoured with fruity aromatic hops'.
O- If I wasn't such a tight git I'd check the remaining 2/3rds of a glass away. What I will do though is have dinner meanwhile, a hot curry, as to be honest this beer will still be a hop-hammer even after it.

CAN
Tarnished gold with pocked white froth. 4
Big slice of cheddar cheese. 3.25
Thread of toffee, a bang of ripe sweat sock, slight orange + a bunch more cottage cheese. 2.75
Crisp, light+, slight oil. 3.75

Citra, Chinook, Simcoe and Amarillo.

Date code puts canning at first week of March - almost 4 months; not fresh but not dead. Yet this is the straight up cheesiest beer I’ve ever smelled, despite the can. That is doubly, aggressively, bovinely true in the flavour, which shows no trace of that very decent hop bill. Obviously not the beer the brewer intended, so I hesitate to review it, but I will as a warning to the brewery: don’t trust M&S with storage + shipping.

Drainpour. 2.5

2/3rd pint served in a custom Hope beer glass at
the Hope beer festival.

A: Amber colour, hazy,
small head, bubbles.

S: Rubber, sour cherries,
grapefruit.

T: Sour malts, biscuit, corky diacetyl.

M: Sticky texture, minimal carbonation.

O: Supposedly an APA but differed from other
versions of that particular beer genre.
