Copenhagen 26/4 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Purple label announcing that this is a "Best Bitter".

Very foamy upon opening leaving a pool on my kitchen table. Pours clear copper brown with a white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is of sweet caramel and toffee. Sour notes of orange juice and citrus peeking in.

Medium strong carbonation and a slightly thick palate. Lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by a distinct bitterness with a little sourness thrown in. Bitterness lingers in the aftertaste.

Even though I carry a grudge for the pool on my kitchen table I must admit that this is a nice bitter.

Pours a clear amber with fine head.

Smell is malty and floral with notes of brown bread, leather, citrus and caramel.

Taste is malty, floral and bready with a bit of sweetness. Notes of citrus, caramel, brown bread and leather. Solid bitterness, very crisp, clean and drinkable.

Mouthfeel is medium, creamy and well carbonated.

Overall, a terrific modern bitter. I could drink this all day long.

Pours a half finger of head on a clear dark straw body.
The aroma is a faint wood and grain.
The taste is woody, apples with a sharp and quick lemon bitterness.
The texture is smooth.
Enjoyable.

Gravity halfpint at the Sebright Arms.

A: Clear chestnut body under a solid, frothy white head. Delicate lace. Nice.

S: Floral hoppiness is balanced cleanly with toasty, lightly nutty malts. A touch of citrus as well. Pleasant.

T: Maltier than the nose, but that's not a bad thing. Rich nuttiness, some almond and toffee, and citrus hops on the long, bittersweet finish. A complex and enjoyable Bitter.

M: Soft, fairly lively medium body. Excellent for gravity.

O: This was a really, really nice little Bitter. It was both fresh-tasting and deep, packing lots of complexity into its 4.2%. Give it a shot.

Cheers!

Dispensed from the cask into an English half pint pot at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green (Jan '12)

Pours to a clear amber/copper colour with a thin white head

Subtle malty nose twinned with a light hop aroma, would say citrusy hops - grapefruit/orangey smell

Malts in the taste, but probably a little more background than the smell, also get the citrus fruit flavours in the hopping, quite an earthy taste but not too bitter in the aftertaste

A fairly thin beer in body, but not to the detriment of my enjoyment - ample for this style/ABV!

Overall a decent effort for a brewery that only set up in summer '11, a well balanced (I would say session beer but it's over 4% - just), sod it, ... session beer!
