Copenhagen 16/1 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Must be the most boring label on the shelf. Grey with a gold logo - and not much else.

Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with a very small head. Bubbly. Disappears almost instantly. No lacing.

Fruity and hoppy aroma. Some sweetness - but dominated by more citric odeurs. Pleasant but not very intense.

Quite low carbonation - pretty flat - and slightly thick palate.

Flavor is medium sweet followed and balanced by a nice medium strong bitterness. Bitter aftertaste,

More exciting than indicated by the label even though it’s a bit flat.

Jan. 2018: 500 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4%, Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of grain, malts and toffee, a hint of fruity hops. The flavour has citrussy hops on a light body with some malts, but not sweet. Medium bitter aftertaste. Easy drinking.

Pours copper with a small-to-medium head that leaves some lace. Nose is earthy hops and light malts, bit of that basement and wet cardboard thing going on. Taste is really big for a 4% beer. Quite malty, and again with very earthy hops. Slightly herbal, some grapefruit pith, and a light bitterness lingers into the finish. I'm really impressed with how much flavor they packed into this 4% beer. Lots of English character as well. Good beer.

Gravity halfpint at the London Drinker festival.

A: Clear light amber body with a thin, frothy cap of white foam. Ok retention and lace.

S: Biscuity malt, herbal, slightly wet-doggish hops. Not the best.

T: Very hoppy here, with some grapefruit pith joining the dank, musty herbal notes. Moderate malt presence midway through. Bitter finish. Ok.

M: Creamy medium body, lively carbonation. Very nice.

O: Not a bad little pale ale at all. Not something I'd get excited over, but well worth trying a half.

Cheers!
