This is a re-review on Nov 1, 2017 - the original is below. Thought I should give this ale another chance.
A 500ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2017. Purchased a while back from the brewery.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A bright golden hue with plentiful carbonation and faint haze. Produces a large head of creamy white foam with good retention; this slowly reduces to a persistent surface layer. Nice lacing.
S: Aroma of subtle leafy hops with hints of light grass/hay, faint floral notes, vague herbs, pale malt and ale yeast. A twinge of corn in the background. OK but underwhelming.
T: Tastes of light malt with notes of mild floral hops, grass/hay, a touch of fruitiness, subtle grain, faint barley sugar and ale yeast. Dry, with a crisp, subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the strength. Aftertaste of leafy hops, pale malt, faint ale yeast and a subtle bitterness.
O: Pretty good - certainly better than the first review. Perhaps being a tad fresher helps! Looks great, while the aroma is quite subdued. The flavour is more balanced, with some crisp, grassy hops pairing nicely with the pale malt. Nice body. Goes down a treat - this is a relatively understated pale ale but very drinkable and perfect for a hot day. Worth sampling.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2014, so it's a little out of date. Acquired a while back from the York Beer & Wine shop. Described on the label as a really pale ale with hints of grapefruit and tropical fruits. This is another new microbrewery near me that I've been wanting to try.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A pale golden hue with faint haze and medium carbonation. Yields a decent head of white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of light malt with hints of subtle grain, mild grass/hay, a twinge of floral hops and earthy yeast. Pleasant but subdued.
T: Tastes of light malt with a mild, dry finish. Notes of mild grain, grass/hay, faint floral hints, earthy yeast and delicate stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a delicate leafy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of earthy yeast, light malt and faint grass.
O: Nice enough but rather bland. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a mild blend of grainy malt and faint hops. Body is OK. Goes down alright but doesn't exactly grab your attention. Maybe I need a fresher example. No need to rush out and hunt it down.
