Crisp and refreshing with balanced bitterness, Kulshan Pilsner showcases the finest German malt and noble hops. Traditional clean and bready malt flavors support herbal, floral and slightly spicy hop aromatics and flavor. With a medium body and a dry finish, Kulshan Pilsner is the epitome of balance, simplicity and flavor. Prost!

Pours a golden straw color with the slightest bit of suspended haze and a foamy white head that is fairly resilient. The nose is full of a heaping helping of fresh cut grass courtesy of the noble hops, leaping from the can as soon as it’s cracked open.
The noble hop flavors are forward and scintillating, with a nice bit of bready malt sweetness for balance. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean, per the style.
This is another one of those “this is a beer drinker’s beer” beers that I enjoy so much - just perfect to sit on the deck and enjoy on a perfect summer day.

BB date is 9/1. Poured into a tall Pilsner glass. Clear, straw-amber color with a finger or two tight head. Nose is light, mostly a biscuit dough aroma. Taste is spot-on for the style, malt with a good dose of hops for balance. Clean finish with a hint of sweetness.

120z can (no date) poured into 14os teku. Poured a lightly hazy bright gold color with an inch of white head that had low-moderate retention and almost no lacing.
The aroma was fairly typical for the style; light earthy grains, some floral hops, and maybe a touch of yeast tanginess.
Similar on the tongue, with just a bit of hop bite to add some interest.
The body was average; light crisp, clean, with a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability was good, a quick, easy quaff.
Overall, and average-ish take on the style. Worth a shot if you see it.

L: Pours an absolutely magnificent straw gold, crystal clear. An inch thin white head and carbonation on the heavier side. Appears like cider
S: Apple and pear, orchard fruit, upfront, followed by spicy herbal or floral notes. Sweet/Acidic balance with a malt background. Intriguing..
T: Spicy hops first on the tip of tongue, slowly washed out by crispy clean floral notes. The action is all up front. Wonderfully refreshing and alluring, not a boring Pils whatsoever. A quick blast of nuanced flavor, delicate, perfect for drinking outside while hiding under shade.
F: Very light body, crisp, and clean. Snappy.
Kulshan's Pilsner is solid in it's style. I feel the only place it could really improve is in taste. However, the spicy floral taste makes you sip again and again. It is quite dry overall, no fruit was on the palate as was the nose. This brew did win Best of Craft Beer in 2017, and I believe it does what is supposed to to the highest degree, for a Pils.

Clear gold with moderate effervescence and a fat finger of white foam head. Nice lacing.
Light corn bread and floral hops in the nose.
The same elements continue to the taste, where they’re joined by a little sulfur and mineral water.
Medium bodied with prickly carbonation.
Strikes most of the right notes, but a little more bready and not quite as crisp as I prefer. Still plenty enjoyable.

a delicious and positively crushable take on this style, which has been more and more appealing to me almost as a polar opposite to a new england ipa, i just crave this kind of thing more than i have ever before right now. its not quite all the way clear and sports a nice fizzy rising white head with decent retention and visible carbonation. the aroma is classically german, but lighter than many, with a mild cereal complexion to the malt and a mellower take on a german lager yeast than many of these have, fresh breadiness, crisp, some minerals, not a ton of hops either, soft and grassy, simple really, but when i take an ice cold sip, i am blown away by how dry and refreshing it is, brilliant really, with a familiar and expected flavor, but great balance and a delicate complexion, although with plenty of body, kind of the best of both worlds for me, just right. carbonation soars and this finishes real snappy, i taste both the yeast and the hops more after i swallow it than i do when its in my mouth. nothing revolutionary here, but an expertly made lager to be sure. this was a great compliment to smoked brisket, it cut the fat, stayed light in my belly, and cooled any heat from the sauce. i thought this was really well done, so good that i brought it to a dinner party to share and ended up drinking the whole thing myself...

Perfumey hops like a Kölsch. Clear golden brew with sticky lacing in the Troubadour tulip. Moderately spritzy on the tongue. Warm and malty. Quite resiny and chewy. Bold flavor, fruity and woody with that crazy flower-power hop chasing down to the aftertaste. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Elizabeth Station.

Poured from a bomber into a Pilsner.
A: clear, straw-colored, with a finger breadth of white head. Moderate lacing.
S: yeast, hops, light malt
T: I'm not good at rating pilsners, but this one is really delightful. Very well balanced malt and hops, minimal bitterness.
M: light, mice carbonation
O: delightful, a real treat. I sampled this whole visiting up in Washington state. Highly recommended!
