Hazed yellow with a finger-and-a-half of foamy near-white head. Decent retention and nice webbed lacing.
Tropical fruit and a little skunk weed shine in the nose.
Semi-dry taste with some white wine, pear, grapefruit, a little pepper, more tropical fruit and skunk weed. Dull bitterness lingers with tropical fruit sweetness on the backend.
Medium bodied with a prickly feel.
Summery and refreshing. It’s dry, but not as dry and clean tasting as some in the sub-style. The tropical fruit is what stands out most to me.

Clear golden yellow with a modest foam in the Affligem chalice. Prickly on the tongue with a distinct bite of acidity. Thin body and crisp but rather sharp. It's funny how this Brut style has such a different mouthfeel from the big malty IPAs we're used to now. The carbonation, I have to admit, is more like Champagne. I"m not sure I like it but this seems like a good example of the style.
Rather bitter aftertaste with pencil shavings and a touch of sourness. Aromatic with lemon-lime and a hint of sugar-free Sprite. It's all quite dry and bubbly, not fizzy exactly. The hops seem to work well with this treatment though I don't think we're getting the full aromatics. Some pear flavor and a persistent spicy note that is interesting.
So should we be serving Brut IPAs in a bucket of ice? From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the tasting room in Bellingham.

16oz bottle poured into 14oz Teku. Poured a lightly hazy yellow with 3/4 inch of white head that had decent retention and good lacing.
Bright citrus hops popped out of the bottle uncapping. Very light grain underneath the hops. Very similar on the tongue; light malt citrusy hops.
The body was on the medium side of light, with a very nicely dry finish. Drinkability was very good, I could easily see knocking back a few more. Overall, a pretty nice brew, worth trying when you see it.
