Very dark color, almost a Stout black but there is some amber in the edges. Plenty of foam in the snifter. Some herbal aroma, leaf mold. It's thin bodied with a little malty sweetness, but the rest is all about the bitterness.
The IBUs are rated at 80, and I would say that's conservative. Hops are Zeus, Chinook, Simcoe, and Idaho 7, with a serious overdose of one of them. It's stupendously bitter. Harsh and undrinkable after a few sips. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the tasting room.
