Interestingly dark amber, almost brown in color with plenty of foam in the Kasteel chalice. Mouthfeel is sudsy and a little slisppery vrom the oats, apparently. Hops are listed as Idaho 7, Chinook, and Mosaic. Aroma is warm malt and lemon peel.
Flavor of dark grain with a touch of citrus. Some resins in the taste, more than fruit. There is a hint of mango though in the finish. Moderate bitterness. Very likeable hoppy brew. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Haggen Market. Another one from the Cascade Peaks series.

L: Murky red-brown with solid white foam head. SRM 24 or 25. Rather hazy. Really appealing.
S: A delicate mixing of Citrus and Pine. Not very sweet. Earthy with a hoppy aroma. Slight mango acidity.
T: Tangerine and Douglas fir, not overly bitter but high. Floral notes throughout and a subtle sweet finish.
F: Viscous and heavy for a 6.5. Chewable and bitter. Rather mouthcoating.
This brew has earned its title as a Northwest IPA. The citrus of the IPA is balanced exquisitely with the woody, wet forest notes of NW beers. Most shocking was the dark red hue and opaqueness of appearance. It is a bit heavy for my liking, but not over encumbering and the nose gives the feeling of taking off your pack after a long hike at the summit. fresh air, rain, and greenery. This is a textbook Northwest take on IPAs.
