Pours dark dark brown, but crystal clear when held to light. Seems a little flat when pouring, head and bubbles were very slow to form. They did slowly, not much retention or lacing. A few light brown bubbly islands remain.
Aroma is coconut, coffee and chocolate notes. It is a fresh coconut smell, like those shavings before they have been cooked.
Taste is much the same. The coconut mixed with the chocolate notes is most of what I taste.
Mouthfeel is a little watery, which strikes me as strange because the regular wasn’t. It has a low smooth carbonation and finishes with slight roasty bitterness.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a very dark red- brown with little light transmission in the glass and a one finger khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel and bready malt and coconut. Flavor is dry caramel malt, coconut, cinnamon and hints of cocoa and dark fruit; coconut dominates. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Well, coconut is the story here. I'm a fan of the various Kitten Mitten varieties, and I really like this one too, but the coconut makes it hard to parse out any of the other individual flavors. Ordinarily that would be a deal breaker, but the base warmer here is so mellow and pleasant that it carries the coconut very well. There are nice caramel, seasonal spice and even faint cocoa around the edges, giving this a festive flavor. Not for the coconut averse, but I found this to be unexpectedly well balanced and satisfying. Excellent aftertaste of caramel malt, light spice and coconut. I'll have this kitten next year too.
