Nice, evenly balanced DIPA. This would get an even higher score if it had a higher alcohol content. Well made. This place is putting out some nice beers.

I rarely order double IPA's as quite often they're just too sweet. Thankfully this one bucks the trend and is a joy to drink. It pours light gold and is crowned with eggshell white head of about half an inch. Nice.
Nose is full of rich tropical fruit. Pineapple, mango, tangerine are lush in the nose. Taste is much the same with maybe a bit of vienna malt in the grain bill. I really love the way the malt accentuates the hop flavor. Nicely done.
Body hovers right around medium. I'm digging the hell out of this. If I see it around Seattle I'll order it, drink it, and be happy.

Shaker Pints @ the brewery
This is a damn good beer, much like the Kulshan single IPA - a radiating orange glow, bright citrus profile, freshly zested lemon, some lush tropical fruit, pine, light biscuity malt. I continue to be impressed by Kulshan - a fine option in Bellingham and a very cool pub.

Served in 10oz nonic. Poured a clean, clear coppery gold color with about 1/2 inch of khaki colored head that had good retention and lacing.
The aroma featured lots of piney and citrus hops with just enough malt noticeable to provide a nice contrast point. The flavors were fairly similar, except that the malt had a bit bigger presence. The piney hop flavors were more notable than the citrus, although the citrus lingered on the dry finish.
The body was pretty good, full without being, and had a nice dry finish. Drinkability was good, this didn't just automatically wipe out the taste buds, thus letting you have a couple. Overall, a very nice take on the style, especially for the first try from this brewery. I look forward to seeing this beer grow in future batches. Worth trying if you see it, and probably worth a trip to the 'Ham for a couple.

Pours a beautiful, slightly hazy orange amber. Lots of citric hops in the aroma, but the fruity quality is a bit muted in the flavor, although there is a nice mix of citric and tropical underpinnings, and the level of hoppiness is just right. There is also a bit cedar shavings, and just a touch of cereal graininess and salt, which add to the crisp and refreshing qualities of the lengthy finish of this fine DIPA.
